We are doing IVF...

Hi Beauties!

How are you? I hope that you are doing well?

I haven't been blogging but have created my blog sometime ago because I knew I wanted to share this journey with you all in as much detail as I possibly can.

If you have been following me on my Instagram platform you will know how badly I've wanted to be a mommy for some time now, you will also know that 2021 has been one of the hardest years I have had to date, due to a rollercoaster of things finally leading to my mental health taking a major set back, which of course also led to having babies being put on hold.

However fast forward to today the 19th of April 2022, exactly 6 days after our first initial consultation and appointment with our Dr. and fertility specialist Dr. Tebogo Deo.

Genesis reproductive center at Kloof Hospital in Pretoria was recommended to us, although I ended up going with a different doctor then the one initially recommended, it's safe to say that we cannot be happier with our choice.

I have known from June 2021 that IVF will be our means to becoming parents and I won't lie, at first the idea was and still is scary to some extent, I had some anger towards the idea and a lot of sadness because I think a lot of people are uninformed of the process and as much as the outcome is good, it is often a very very hard and taxing journey and given my mental state over the past few months I just wasn't able to see myself putting my body through something like this as I could barely leave my house and function in public yet alone place myself into a very emotionally and physically hard situation. However my desire to become a mommy very much outweighs the scary stuff because in the end the outcome can and will be magical.

So welcome to my IVF journey, where I will be sharing as much as I possibly can regarding my experience, I am still very much learning to naturally be in society again but it is A LOT better then what it was a few months ago and I know that God will never put me through things that I cannot handle so I am truly thankful for this opportunity and I will try to remind myself of the magical outcome of this journey as I envision holding our baby girl, or boy with every single step we take.

On our first appointment we met with our Dr. who by the way is just truly amazing and I cannot imagine anyone else doing this with us.

She asked us about our medical history, our lifestyle and sent us for Blood tests as well as did a papsmeer for me, she then explained the treatments and how as well as when what happens and we scheduled our second appointment for the 4th of May, where I am sure we will know more about what the next steps are for me and hubby as we embarked on this journey.
